Legacy Master Marine, a reputable marine service repair company, is seeking a qualified technician with great work ethics and a desire to succeed to join our team.


Located on the Duwamish River at the South Park Marina, Legacy has been servicing King county and beyond for over 30 years, formerly as Rick’s Master Marine. We are a small yet growing operation devoted to keeping our stellar reputation that we’ve built over the decades.


Some of the required skills that a great Legacy Master Marine technician should have:


Professional experience servicing outboard and/or stern drive engines on trailerable boats.


Proven repair efficiency; i.e. able to perform quality repairs near, at, or below flat rate time.


Certification with Mercury/Mercruiser/ Volvo/Honda/Yamaha and Suzuki preferred.


Technicians are required to provide their own tools to complete work assigned including hand tools, air/power tools, and testing equipment. OEM specialty tools, lifting and rigging gear, material handling equipment will be available and provided by LMM. 


  • Some of the Duties required: Repair marine engines, mechanical & electrical systems as approved by customer.
  • This includes reading, understanding and taking responsibility for the entire customer repair order
  • diagnosing repairs needed consulting with the Technical Manager regarding a plan of action
  • reading and understanding service manuals; research when applicable


Rig and install new marine engines and accessories as approved by customer.


Perform repairs thoroughly, with accuracy and high quality.


Perform repairs in an organized, timely manner.


Perform repairs according to the guidelines of Legacy Master Marine Service Supervisor and manufacturer.


Perform repairs with a high level of efficiency and productivity.


Write thorough notes on all action performed on engines/systems.


Work independently, update supervisor on progress, and seek guidance when needed.


Continue learning how all systems/components/new equipment works, in order to continually improve skills.


Keep all work areas neat and organized.


Follow Company procedures, as instructed by the Technical and Business Manager.



Shop projects as required. Regular shop cleaning. Assist other employees as necessary. Other tasks as necessary


This position is full time, Tues-Fri with opportunity to work on Saturdays. We are closed Sun and Monday. Compensation is hourly with potential for OT; access to company subsidized health and dental insurance and 401k after 30 days of employment. Paid holidays, Paid Training and Certification, Yearly Tool Allowance. Hourly rates based on experience.
